Milsurps / Prohib Sporter lee enfield for 250$
Picked this up at a gun show recently is it worth trying to put back to original configuration or no? All matching serial numbers but obviously a sporter.
Barrel is very clean also

sporter enfileds are the final bastion of affordable surplus left in canada. even sporter ross rifles go for eye watering amounts now.

What's crazy is sporter Lees were selling for this same price 15-20 years ago. Inflation left these guns behind they have lost actual value.

I think it’s because the ammo is too expensive for may people to justify it. I love these sporter enfields, though. They are an important part of Canadian hunting history, an a great way to experience a Lee enfield without breaking the bank on an original configuration one.

I think I paid $250 for mine 8 years ago. I did overpay as the fucker painted it. Went to clean it and all the black came off. Wasn't too upset it actually looks better with the blueing all worn

G4C or Gotenda has .303 Brit at $2 a round or cheaper if you buy in bulk

Hard to tell perspective in the pics, are you sure its cut down? That seems like a regular front sight it just needs the wood and fittings

Sweet rifle. Would have to see what the furniture and missing parts would cost...you can buy a full original no1 for $800 on Tenda right now.

prestigious wood stocks have good replacement stocks but it will require some work and fitting.
Looks like none of the remaining steel has been mangled either. If you can find parts for it have at her. Try ebay. The uk is a good source for sling swivels, nosecaps and screws.

Hey man can you get a tapco stock for that thing? It would look cooler with some quad rails and an a $20 Amazon flashlight

The barrel looks original. If you can find some original front wood and muzzle hardware for a good price it is definitely worth restoring.
