Milsurps / Prohib Soviet 5.45x39mm ammo

Obviously there’s no significant market for this specific type of ammunition here in Canada.

Been able to pickup some in the last couple of years at gun shows and auctions, merely for collecting purposes.

Before the converted auto ban in 1992, there were some non restricted and restricted AK74s in Canada. In 1990 there was a batch of legit Russian AK74 rifles imported into Canada. Im sure there has been almost none of this ammo imported into Canada for decades.

2014 Marstar was offering a Christmas deal where you get one mosin 91/30 one SKS and one SVT and one crate of 1140 rounds of ammo for a total of 999 + tax and you get a deactivated ak74 for free

That's actually a crazy deal. If only life was still fun 😕

I have actually seen a few retailers with this ammo in the last few months. Bullseye North had it a couple months back, brass cased stuff though not soviet steel.

I think SFRC might have had it too, or maybe it was Marstar. I found it on two sites though when I got curious to see if it was around in Canada.
