Application / Regulation advice Backland hunter magwell

Hey guys looking for information before purchasing anything. Iv been eyeing the backland hunter and am wondering about the legality of filing the magwell to fit stanag mags. I understand this is Reddit and not a lawyer. But to my understanding of the law, the gun is classified by its action. And filing the magwell does not change this. The firearm uses crypto mags which are known for being bad. I got into a debate with a local firearm store about the mod I seen on gunnuts and am wondering if by doing so I’m putting myself at risk. TIA

Aside from every review of the gun being bad. You can absolutely modify the receiver to take different mags. The only thing you can do is modify the capacity, that has to remain.

From lots of reviews it seems like the crypto mags cause most of the issues. I now have some 5/30 mags for it and used a Dremel. Going to get it out at the range this coming weekend. Should be fun!
