Misc Ammo posting: 37mm shells
Brought back from WW1, they have been in my family on a shelf or mantlepiece for over 100 years. And yes, they were made inert at the time.

Do you have a very large pet? Those hairs make what's supposed to be a 37 mm look like 5 mm.

The only explanation for this is that OP has a polar bear as a pet

Possibly. But I fear the hairs would be more translossent if that was the case.

Yes. And hollow.
Fun fact: Polar bear are hollow which helps insulation. They are indeed somewhat translucent. Together, these properties make polar bear hair excellent materials for making flies for fly fishing. Just a bit hard to come by.

If I was a less trusting person, I'd say you just zoomed right in on some 22LR
