News / Politics / Activism Does the RCMP definitively know what guns you own?

I've got my third notification about my final chance to apply for the gun buyback. But as far as I know I don't own any prohibited weapons. My rifles are either bolt action or lever action, except for a .22 and a shotgun, which last I checked were not on the list. They may be on a future list.

I assume they are just emailing everyone with a PAL because they're too lazy to go through the records to send out emails with the prohibited weapon(s) in question. My view is that until you show up at my door with a request for a specific weapon, STFU. My .22 was peanuts and they're never going to compensate me full value for my shotgun, so MEH.

Wow this destroyed idea is sure popular on Reddit today. I guess we’ll see how it works out in 7 months

Why wouldn't it be? If you're not participating in the ASFCP and don't want to risk the legal liabilities of non compliance, it's the ultimate form of malicious compliance. Destroy it right before the deadline, and report it promptly as legally required and absolutely nothing beyond what's legally required.

I agree, it’s just not been discussed this much before.

well in 10 days the confiscation plan rolls into motion and we either get an extension of the amnesty or there's going to be a lot of restricted firearms being destroyed by their owners come october.

Lest they want to either commit to a firefight with police or jailtime. Which neither are exactly pleasant.
