Sent in my RPAL application yesterday! now I have to wait my 28 days ++++

After you wait 28+ day for it to arrive, there’s nothing left to buy in restricted anymore unfortunately.

It’s more of the fact that you can still get a Restricted license at this point. It lets you at least have the option of borrowing your friend’s restricted handguns and whatever else is not prohibited these days…

Definitely cannot borrow friends handguns with a restricted….you can shoot them at the range while the owner is present, but you can do that without an RPAL.

You need an authorization to transport your handguns to the range, you will never get one of those trying to transport handguns that aren’t registered to you.

Having the RPAL means you don’t need to shoot it with my supervision. And also what occasions would you need to borrow a handgun outside of the range? It’s not like you can use it anywhere else.

I also haven’t tried this, but do you have a source on you will never be able to get an ATT for it? If I’m going south for a few months on vacation, I’m not leaving my stuff unattended and will likely have it stored with another RPAL holder.

Maybe you are right, Google states it is possible, but this could be info from before the freeze

An RPAL is for possession and acquisition, that means the firearm is registered to you and stored at your home.

I’ve never done it either, but they are so strict about the movement of handguns, that I would imagine you can’t just “lend” handguns to friends. How would they get an ATT if it’s not in their name? And seeing as all handguns are frozen, you can’t even transfer it into their name temporarily.

I’m happy to be proved wrong but cannot imagine borrowing handguns is even a thing. They can’t even be stored away from their registered address.
