Application / Regulation advice Legality on order receiver screws form US to Canada

Wanting to get some upgraded receiver screws that convert from flat head to torx. Can I legally order these in from the states or do I have to go through someone with a import license like a gun store.

Are they jsut screws or a special part?

If they're just regular screws I wouldn't spend big money shipping them from the US. Just find out what size they are and order them locally.

Last time I had to order something like that I didn't order "gun screws" I just bought a pack of#5-40x3/8 socket screws.

Though sometimes it makes sense to get the specific set. I need some screws for a bridge, as well as the springs. And it was cheaper just to get them as a set than get a pack of screws and a pack of springs the right size.

Have you tried just taking the current screws down to the hardware store and matching them up with torx or hex head equivalents?

I took a look online it looks like specialty screws. I was thinking the same thing lol

There are many sellers in the US who will export screws and "pieces of metal" (wink wink) and other non-obvious firearms parts without export paperwork. I ordered some "levers," and the seller labeled them as "metalwork."

I don't believe screws, pins, bolts, nuts, and rivets fall under ITAR, even if the part is designed specifically for a firearm.

I've never had issues with parts that dont immediately faciltate the "bang" portion. No idea if triggers are a nono, but stocks/chassis, screws/rails etc havent been an issue if you have paitence. Sometimes firearms mIl gets flagged for inspection

I’ve ordered parts from Numrich and they arrived no problem. As long as it’s nothing prohibited, there shouldn’t be an issue.

I've order basically an entire Uberti minus the frame to use for parts for my papered, antique Remington and they came in the regular mail no problem. Post handgun freeze too.

They're just screws. Should be fine.

That said, what receiver screws are you ordering that you couldn't source here in Canada?
