Considering how you HAVE to store your firearms and ammunition, you'd likely be in an illegal position before you ever had a chance to use it.

Pure posturing and even if it did pass (won't happen), you would end up in court, presumed guilty, trying to fight for your innocence in an uphill battle without changes to storage laws already in place.

My firearms are in a biometric safe in my bedroom that takes less than 10 seconds to access, grab a magazine on the shelf in the safe, grab the firearm, load magazine and get it into battery... It can be done very quickly with practice, and it complies with all federal regulations and laws pertaining to safe storage.

I dont have my PAL, I want to get it but everytime I get close I come into this sub and the politics turn me off or some tard kills a bunch of kids...

If your decision to get a PAL hinges on whether a random subreddit’s comment section is perfectly aligned with your politics, you probably weren’t that serious about it in the first place.

Getting a PAL is about learning the law, safe handling, and responsible ownership through the Canadian Firearms Safety Course not about agreeing with every edgy comment you read online. Plenty of PAL holders are normal people.

Also, blaming lawful owners every time some criminal or lunatic commits a crime is exactly the kind of lazy thinking that keeps getting pushed in Canadian gun debates. People who go through the PAL process are background‑checked, trained, and continuously screened by the RCMP through the Canadian Firearms Program. They’re literally one of the most vetted groups in the country.

If you want to get licensed, do it because you’re interested in the responsibility and the sport not because a Reddit thread passed your political purity test. And if one random discussion about the Northern British Columbia is enough to scare you off, that says more about how you’re approaching the topic than it does about licensed gun owners.

At the end of the day, a PAL isn’t a political statement, it’s a safety certification and a licence. Treating it like a culture war badge is the exact mindset that keeps derailing the conversation.

“Maple MAGAs” is just a lazy way to dismiss people without actually engaging with anything they’re saying. Canadian firearms owners aren’t some American political import they’re ordinary Canadians (of all colors, stripes and flavors) who went through a federally mandated licensing process, background checks, safety training, and continuous eligibility screening. That’s literally the opposite of the caricature you’re trying to paint.

And the irony is you say you don’t want to be “educated,” which pretty much explains the whole comment. It’s easier to throw insults than to actually learn how Canadian firearms law works or why people disagree with current policies.
