How is this not a pistol? We're not a serious country.

u/HappyCan7250 Mar 12 '26
It's funny cause you can buy actual revolvers with longer barrels than this even. I think they're 9" barrels. But because it has "the shoulder thing that goes up" it's not a handgun.
Not sure if there is other technicalities to it, but that seems to be it.
Same way the dark mountain arms stowaway is also a legal 6" "rifle" with a pistol grip and removable stock.

u/Diligent-Athlete1202 Mar 13 '26
I’m guessing if that stock was removed it’s illegal lol, so it’s literally only the stock from keeping it from being on the prohib list LOL
2
u/Consistent_Spite_204 Mar 13 '26
The stock is not readily removable on a stowaway for most people., the rear picatinny adapter plate version is not imported for that exact reason. Also it is a 5" barrel not 6"

If you could shoot .45 out of these I'd be down. 410 is hard to find and when there is it's expensive.
6
u/ExpandDong- Mar 12 '26
You can buy 9mm inserts on Ebay, it ain't 45 but it gives you the option to shoot cheaper than 410 slugs
I did buy some Troy 410 slugs on G4C for 40$ for 25 slugs, it is not cheap but comparable to some 308 FMJ or rounds alike price wise

u/Iokua_CDN Mar 13 '26
Something to be said about buying a slug mold, then taking birdshot rounds, and melting the birdshot into a slug.
Or if just plinking, melting wax on the shot to make a wax slug.
Birdshot 410 is like only a buck a round.

How's the blowback out of the side of cylinder on your hands/face?
1
u/FlounderMaterial5096 Mar 18 '26
I have one and haven't felt any. They have a gas guard on both sides of the cylinder.

u/FedInformant Mar 12 '26
Are these only chambered in 410?
30
u/ExpandDong- Mar 12 '26
Yes 410, but you can buy 9mm chamber adapter on Ebay for about 150$ for the 5 chamber lol

Have you tried that yet? My concern is 9mm pressure is significantly (2-3x) higher than .410, which is what this firearm was designed for. Given it's low price/Turkish origin, I'd be cautious. Will it immediately fail catastrophically? Will it last 500 and THEN explode, will it be fine "forever"? Food for thought.

What’s the deal with Turkish guns? I always see hate but don’t know why, my 11 round spring loaded Turkish pump 12 gauge is pretty sweet! Although my shoulder will vastly disagree…
2
u/Acc4Wtf Mar 13 '26
Turkish QC, hit or miss, same model might be flawless for you but not for the next few ppl. I supposed the same could be said for anything, but there are lots of user reports saying that for the most part, you get what you pay for.
I have some experience (good and bad) with multiple Turkish firearms, rifles and shotguns. Regardless of this being Turkish, the concerns from my previous comment feel valid.
. Turkey makes cool looking affordable stuff with some interesting designs, but lets be honest it's mostly for our Canadian cope (and wallet). Not hating, just don't want OP and others to blow their fingers/face off with these adapters.
1
u/Iokua_CDN Mar 13 '26
I'm contemplating those adaptors. The harder part would be to put some sort of rifled adaptor down the barrel (maybe attached to a screw in choke?) So you can stabilize the rounds
1
u/samsquanch357 Mar 13 '26
You just get the rifled adapters, you’ll get maybe 1.5” of rifling, better than nothing
11
u/Piqued-Larry Mar 12 '26
I heard revolver-shotguns/rifles shoots powder residue in the shooter's face. Have you tried it yet? What's your experience?
15
u/SadisticChipmunk Mar 12 '26
That is true for most of these styles.
However the cylinder looks pretty clean and tight with this build so hopefully it is very minimal to non-existent.
I look forward to hearing how it performs.

u/Iokua_CDN Mar 13 '26
I have a longer barrel version and the secret is to leave the blast shield on the side by your face, and take the blast shield OFF on the opposite side. Gas mostly goes out that side.
Otherwise, having it out further away from your face really helps too. This one would be good. Mine had a short stock so it was closer to my face so it was a bit worse until I added a stock extension.
All in all, some gas but not bad

Let us know how it shoots. I’m worried that the blowback from the cylinders will just remove my fingers.
1
u/IGnuGnat Mar 12 '26
Isn't that a risk with any revolver, though? You have to keep your hands below the cylinder
1
u/Iokua_CDN Mar 13 '26
Shoot it with both hands on the handle then!
But honestly the 410 is very low pressure. It's not something like 44mag. I shoot mine with no sleeves, and it's fine

u/itsmeAG32 Mar 12 '26
I have a question lol.. can that handgaurd be replaced ?

u/ExpandDong- Mar 12 '26
There is like 73 Allen key all over, i am pretty sure you can find a way to remove what you must to make it a big ol bubba hand canon if you wish to lol

My question is can the pistol grip/butt stock be taken off? Or is there some part of the trigger mechanism in it
3
u/ExpandDong- Mar 13 '26
It is an Allen key in the stock that removes the whole back end, just like you would a regular shotgun and there is the stock/buffer tube, so in theory, you could remove the stock while keeping the pistol grip 👀 (I am not advising or encouraging doing that at all, it would be wrong and illegal, i am a law abiding citizen. This message is aimed at the RCMP)
3
u/ExpandDong- Mar 13 '26
I just disassembled it to see whats going on and brother, the stock is only held by a single Allen key into the pistol grip lol

u/Horilka Mar 12 '26
Tell us you don't read CGN without telling it. Seriously - stay safe and spend some time reading feedback on those. They are dangerous by design.

u/Sad-Kitchen5576 Mar 12 '26
Cool, for the down-payment plan they only send you half? Wheres the front half?

I wanna buy the standard version but I'm just not so sure if this is a good 3rd choice without having a proper hunting bolt.
2
u/ExpandDong- Mar 13 '26
Coming from a guy who has had a few of everything over the years, i suggest to get 1. A long range rifle with some power in it (Bolt, lever), 2. a 22. for the accessibility to ammo and cheap shooting, and 3. a Shotgun of some sort, and lastly 4. Vanity guns like this one for the fun of it.
But i like all guns and if you are itching for some fun, id say go for it if you have the funds for it
1
u/TitusImmortalis Mar 13 '26
I do have a .22 lever and a 12 gauge pump, so just need a bolt action and then one off weird ones!
1
u/McGlizzy_Gulper Mar 13 '26
Need Rpal for this one?
1
u/ExpandDong- Mar 13 '26
If you remove the stock i guess so but straight out of the box it is non restricted
1
u/HumbleAir1632 Mar 13 '26
So you cannot buy new handguns but what if you took something like this and put a pistol grip without a stock on it?
1
u/ExpandDong- Mar 13 '26
You can remove the stock, make it make sense, i guess it would make it restricted
1
u/rustyrobotguy Mar 13 '26
genuinely wonder if it's like actually worth it to have a not-pistol restricted then?
1
u/PetrolPaladin Mar 13 '26
Don't worry Mr. Mountie, I super seriously pinkie promise I won't take an angle grinder to the stock on this.

That fact that you can legally buy this Turkish ballistic abortion but not a 686 is insane
