When the list first dropped, wasn't there a whole thing that they pretty much carbon copied from some legislation that some anti-gun US-states were trying to do and that's why the list is so padded with items that we simply wouldn't have here?

I would say most the gun ban states as we call them here in USA do have a list of prohibited guns but it’s not very large and you can still get pretty much any variant that isn’t named. Where it differs is the number of features like threaded barrel and pistol grip a semi auto rifle has. That’s where it’s starts getting real retarded
