This. Anything worthwhile in my basement (that will get water damaged anyways) is elevated 5-6" above the floor. Also my basement floor is constructed weirdly (by modern standards) with some pretty hefty slopes so I can end up with like 2-3" of water in one corner and still have 75% of the floor bone dry.

I have two sump pumps cycling 24/7 right now and a spare at the ready. I live right beside a river. This is my nightmare.

I wish it was that easy, I used to have a room upstairs but then started having kids and they took over all the bedrooms. I get some water but just built my safes up off the ground for good measure, with dehumidifier in the room I’ve never had issues with rust in 4 years so far.

I make my own big ass dry packs, mostly for stuff stored in the garage, or anything really moisture sensitive. Bought a bunch of mesh zipper cosmetic bags, and a large jug of silica beads.

They change color when they're about half full. Then I can just stick them in the dehydrator for a while.

Basement has a dehumidifier too. I've only ever had issues like the above once, and it was during a flood where some roads were so deep you could just barely see the roofs of cars abandoned on them. But even in less flood times, sometimes it gets so wet water just forces it's way up from the ground. I've seen patio tiles moving like they're on an air hockey table

Smart. I’ve been at my place for 10 years and only had water the last 2 years. It’s been so long since we’ve had rough winters and both last year and this year we had about 2 feet melt in about a day in rain storms. It was wild earlier in the week my front yard was completely covered and then I woke up the next day and it was all grass.

I've got a room of guns in the basement. I have for years, zero issues, as long as you control the humidity.
