Shooting Happy International Women's Day!
Over the years, the Carleton University Firearms Association (CFA) has seen a progressive increase of women participation in the shooting sports.
The CFA provides an inclusive environment for everyone who have an interest in firearms education, history, and just want to have fun with firearms! We welcome all who want to try.
Stay tuned to our social media for the next student range day and other events.
Note: Some of these pictures were taken in the "before times"...

Ah when this country used to be a little more free.
It's a slippery slope and I fear we are headed for a freefall ladies and gentlemen.

I did not read the caption and thought a loophole or something new just dropped, but nope, just nostalgia for the "before times"...

I remember taking my mother to the lady's range day hosted by the CCFR in Ottawa years back. Crazy my mom got to shoot a Type 81 before I ever got to try one 🤣, but she had a blast.
Maybe we should start accusing the government of being anti-woman by depriving them of guns...

They also held the National Range Day for Ottawa at EOSC as well, I remember the cowboy section was a ton of fun!

Gun rights are women’s rights, it’s the only equalizer for women to defend themselves.

Why do you think they try so hard to make women not like guns? To make self defense illegal, to ban guns?

Great to see Hijab-clad women experiencing firearms. The more people from different walks of life in our society are exposed to firearms in a positive environment will be a net benefit for our cause as a whole.

Awesome to see everyone enjoying the sport! Cant help but appreciate EOSC being used for this exposure. Great range and cant wait to be back out there again. Just curious, can anyone volunteer to be apart of this, as a trained RSO or is it Carleton exclusive? Awesome job!

Most of our volunteers consists of Carleton students and alumni, but we've had various volunteers (mostly RSOs from EOSC) helping us out from time to time!
EOSC is a great facility and they are willing to support our cause by graciously lending us range bays every now and then. Most of our volunteers are EOSC members as well!

It doesn't matter if you're male or female, black or white, gay or straight, cis or trans, rich or poor. Firearms and the shooting sports are for everyone. 🇨🇦
