Application / Regulation advice Is anyone shipping in hard cases?

As title, as per Canada Post regs they want a trigger lock AND locked in a secure container. This would add $60 minimum to shipping cost ( 2 locks and a cheap case). How are people shipping their online-sold firearms?

When I sell a gun online, I usually zip tie the trigger, and wrap the whole thing in shrink wrap and some rags. Then I construct a cardboard box - usually make a frame out of scrap wood (as in, rip a 2x4 into 3/4"x3/4" sticks) and staple cardboard or boxboard to the frame. Then I wrap the whole thing in brown paper and a bunch of tape. Takes maybe half an hour to package up a rifle.

When I bought and sold a lot of guns, I'd hang onto the boxes and re-use them, but I ain't got room to hoard cardboard these days.
