News / Politics / Activism Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Byelections are now being called to attempt to get a Liberal majority... I hope that people in those ridings have common sense and do not allow this to happen.

They'll go liberal. He's gonna get his majority, but I'd rather get it by by-elections than by a snap federal election. I'd rather wait 3 years and a bit for a conservative minority than 4 years from a snap election right now. People really need to suffer to break their voting habits. I don't think we can rely on a new government coming in to help us, sadly. All we can do is not comply and inform people about what's really going down. This program is incredibly unpopular with most Canadians who see it as a waste of money. We need to make sure they know just how much is being wasted and how badly people are being screwed. It's a slow walk to winning, but the roads there waiting.

Just wait until people feel real hunger. We're not suffering hard enough yet (it's a terrible thing to say)
