Doesn’t technically break the transport laws🤷

Transport laws? I know this range looks ghetto but it is in fact a range. Unless there was a change i wasn't aware of, we can still shoot pistols at the range.

The law is pretty grey on the subject. My understanding is you can’t discharge a restricted anywhere but a range because of the laws surrounding transportation. You can’t take a restricted out of your case until you’re at the range as per your ATT. If you were to let’s say shoot out the window of your residence that wouldn’t be in violation. There aren’t any laws specifically prohibiting the discharge of restricted firearms.

Of course the RCMP probably won’t see it that way and I certainly can’t afford a lawyer to challenge it.

But super cool range😉

Yea, only municipal laws which you might be violating and then trigger the section in the firearms act about “handling” which is prohibited whereever laws prohibit discharge.

Our laws are dumb. But like you, I also can’t really find the mythical section in the firearms act or criminal code that totally bans the discharge of a restricted anywhere other than a range. Only sections prohibiting reckless discharge and referencing municipal bylaws.
