Fix my gun Savage 64 .22 light strike issues

Good day, I have a relatively new new 64 precision (heavy barrel, threaded barrel, “assault style” frame) that I have consistently had light strike issues since new. I’ve tried different ammo’s but I’ve noticed no differences. I’ve confirmed it’s not an ammo issue as I’ve then taken the un fired ammo and put it into my old savage 3B bolt action and it fires no issues every time. Is this just a semi auto .22 issue that I have to live with or is there an upgraded spring or something else I can do? TIA

My neighbor just purchased a 64 and was having the same issue. I suggested he try a few mags of HV ammo, just mag dumps to break in and it cleared it up.

I’ll try this, this things probably had 1000+ rounds through it already but no HV

Savage has pretty good customer service even some years later. They sent me parts for a 5 yr old MK 2 no questions asked.

Did you also check the firing pin for any burrs? I'm pretty sure those are stamped out of sheet metal, so you might chamfer the "sharp" edge?
