News / Politics / Activism Garbage Journalism

Post image

Sent a message and considering emailing the journalist personally. Read the title, read the article, look at the photo. This is the kind of garbage journalism that leaves uninformed Canadians supporting Gun Grab policies. Its not just the CBC.

I mean, I guess it isn’t exactly a good look for us, but “garbage”? The article isn’t misrepresenting anything, as far as I can tell. Dude was being sketchy in a van, police issued a stop, he didn’t stop immediately, then he did, police found ammo on his person then found the rifle in the shitbox.

There is no loaded magazine, just a box of .22LR.

It’s probably in the evidence bag to avoid getting compromised by being touched by by anyone. That way they can take fingerprints etc from the mag and loaded ammo.

Still is a misleading headline. Any cop who does rural policing will find a whole lot of vehicles with guns inside and a magazine in the glove box or pockets all the time, especially during hunting season. Hell most of us rural folk will drive with the rifle on our lap and mag in our pocket and its totally legal unless the gun itself is loaded or if the person doesn’t have a valid pal or a prohibition.

Trust me, almost every rural cop, including horse police and 100% against the gun stealing fairytale. Most of them are being victims of the OIC as well.

It is definitely misleading regardless, because even with a loaded magazine it's still legal to transport as long as it's not in the firearm. A whole lot of nothing sandwich in that article.

No, it's just weird that they're not taking a photo of the magazine, why would it be the only item in a bag? I've seen oddly large items be put into tamper-proof evidence bags so I doubt it's a size issue, and the comically small box of .22LR is also outside of a bag.

In the evidence bag?

Hard to say it's "garbage journalism!!!!" When it's an objective statement of facts.
