Your logic doesn't really hold up. By breaking into somebody's house, especially if Castle Doctrine became a thing, you are conveying to everybody that you as the criminal do not value your own life
Why should I as the victim defending myself be forced to place a higher value on the criminal than my own family or property?.
Make it make sense.
