Can't also stand the people who are like but but see you can defend yourself in Canada!

The point is the defender should be owed deference in this case and should not have to be charged and dragged through court.

Imagine the stress of dealing with a home invader and then ON TOP of that you have to spend thousands and be dragged through the time of court.

He wasnt dragged through court.

The guy defending himself was himself a violent criminal and went to prison for assault and then failed to comply with probation and a release order. Mans a criminal. Stop tripping over yourself to defend him his criminal history is exactly why this took so long.
