That block is a lot more beat up these days

Isn't this gun non restricted? I bought it on gunpost last month. It's a crusader arms Templar gen 2. It doesn't have an FRT and is not prohibited by name. (You could argue that it's an AR180 variant, but I can't give a fuck about some horse cop's opinion). If a cop takes my gun away, I will take them to court

I know many people still using Templars and Cruxes. I doubt it's old. Even ranges like silverdale still allow Templar/crux.

Interesting, Silverdale definitely doesn’t screw around with that stuff. I saw a guy get booted for shooting a tavor a couple months after it got banned.

u/Kid-On-Reddit- Jan 05 '26
Ive called them up last April and they said the Templar is fine as its on no OIC

u/Mammoth_Attention_59 Jan 04 '26
Word to the wise,
If your range allows prohibs, by all means. But it takes just one shitty RCMP officer to shut down the whole range.
Also takes one poor traffic stop to have them take your guns, and reclassify your license.
Play at your own risk here, folks

You'd never see the gun again, and the court case would be extraordinarily expensive.
You are correct that the Templar is not presently prohib, the Crypto is.

If it isn’t on the OIC banned list or RCMP banned list, then the Range will allow it…. From what i was told by a Range officer

u/Next-Swimming-4270 Jan 04 '26
Exactly! It's my property and it's non restricted. I will keep taking it out to shoot

Tsk tsk, I assume this photo was pre 2024.

u/Edmonton_outdoorsman Jan 03 '26
If they want to use their legally acquired property in a safe manner at their own personal legal risk why do you care?
-5
u/blueline731 Jan 03 '26
Unfortunately we need to comply with making these safe queens until this is reversed. If we don’t, that’s justification to push harder. At the moment we have public support, if we don’t keep ourselves in line we’ll lose it.
7
u/dgod40 Jan 03 '26
I agree with what you said initially but let's be honest, we don't have public support.

u/Holmes419 Jan 03 '26
We are all grouped together and villainized for any minor crime regardless of who commits it.
The acts of individuals affects the many and this is far from the time to fuck around. Why would you not care?
24
u/some_guy2024 Jan 03 '26
Maybe if people still shoot their prohibs the govt will double ban them? Or just ban all semis? Oh, wait, that’s basically where we’re at 🙄
11
u/Edmonton_outdoorsman Jan 03 '26
Literally this, it's downhill from here. We have pretty much no public support. I'm not risking shooting anything prohibited, but all the power to individuals that decide to.
-15
u/LongRoadNorth Jan 03 '26
By doing so just gives more fuel to the fire for the government to justify their bans and say it's too dangerous for us to have them, nevermind a buyback they just need to be seized.
It's a single person's legal issue but it's all our issue as firearms owners for how the government will use it against us even more.
It's an uphill battle for us, no need to make that hill even steeper
7
u/burgers1919 Jan 04 '26
I get what you are saying but from the pov of common sense... He is at a range using them as they were used safely for years... It's not like they are out terrorizing ppl and yelling death to x, y, z... Like some groups in Canada are allowed to do...
Also doesn't matter what we do it's not about actually making ppl safe it's about government showing Canadians they can do whatever tf they want to any of us and we should just lie down and take it.
-1
u/LongRoadNorth Jan 04 '26
There's also legalities around the range.
Some reason I can't see them not getting in trouble for allowing someone to shoot a prohibited at their range.
2
u/burgers1919 Jan 04 '26
Who knows maybe they will be kicked out tomorrow?
Never know. We just gotta keep our cool until hopefully enough Canadians realize we are a third world country now and vote this government out.

Da range Langley #13? Fired my first shotgun at that stand, nearly broke my wrist

15 I think. Close enough though

Wait I’m confused, is this a troll post? Or are these not prohib
3
u/Mammoth_Attention_59 Jan 04 '26
I’m confident these are prohib. Unsure how he was able to shoot this at the range
2
u/WhatsaKM9 Jan 05 '26
I see them all the time at silverdale, these weren’t banned by name and don’t have an FRT. this situation is why they wanted to get rid of the rule not requiring Canadian made guns have an FRT
3
u/Mammoth_Attention_59 Jan 05 '26
It’s an AR180 variant
Banned by name or not, it’s blanketed in
If a range allows it, it’s to their discretion. Mileage varies
3
u/WhatsaKM9 Jan 05 '26 edited Jan 05 '26
I get what you’re saying but every other 180 variant is named in the ban list except the Templar and the crux. They even named the crusader 9, the pcc version of the Templar but somehow the og slid through the cracks.
It’s definitely a grey area I will agree with you on that but it’s crazy how many of them I see at silverdale, considering they have a reputation on here for being huge fudds. Kinda makes me wish I bought one of those garbage rods when I could….. only slightly 🤣

I used to work at this range. Extremely popular amongst local LEOs who are firearms enthusiasts. I am sure this discussion has been had with them several times.

u/Next-Swimming-4270 Jan 04 '26

The templar and crux are variants of the sentinel. 197554 is the FRN.

u/Lost-Substance-8149 Jan 06 '26
Damn it’s crazy that’s like the closest thing to a standard capacity sporting rifle y’all have. A basically banned ar180 copy with 10 rd pistol mags. It’s rlly cool for working with what you got

Is that an SKS-15??
4
u/Next-Swimming-4270 Jan 04 '26
Crusader arms Templar gen 2. Non restricted

u/siming_z Jan 05 '26
Isn’t that on the recent prohib list this April? How were you able to shoot it on a range? Did they just not care? lol

Why? All the stuff I can shoot now is boring as fuck
0
u/RYRK_ Jan 04 '26
Yeah... like people saying hold out this and that, but this hobby is more of a drain on space and funds than I am willing to continue bearing, just to shoot stuff I don't find as fun. I guess they won.
