BCL MRX mags in Renegade

As title suggests:

I bought some mags, but encountering the following:

  • bolt will not go forward
  • extremely tight in mag well

After comparing to pmags, it seems the spine of the MRX mag is higher.

Is it legal to mod these mags? Anyone have experience making this work?

I just wanna go pew pew with a 20 rounder lol

You can’t modify a mag, that’s why those fins are there - to stop it from going into anything else.

But there’s nothing that says you can’t modify the mag well on the gun. So you could make the receiver take the original mag if you really wanted.

However once the mag goes in the receiver it becomes illegal because it’s over capacity. So if you get caught with the two of them together shooting you’re in trouble. But separate they are ok.

The mk2 Renegade was designed to accept the MRX magazines

I’ve seen people use them, and have seen people make posts about it

I’m more so after what those people did / advice on it to make it work

Is your receiver a MK2? I would call MRA directly and ask Darren.

I figured it out - the back spine needs to match similar to a standard STANAG

Otherwise it engages the LRBHO

Someone also commented you could remove the LRBHO. So either option works!

Modding the magazine this way doesn’t cause it to become a prohib device: 1. Magazine still works as intended for the rifle(s) it was designed for. I.e manual action rifles (which have no magazine capacity limit)

If you shave down the sides and now it fits a in a semi auto - big no no

The renegade has a modified mag well by design to fit these magazines

Long story short, both options are perfectly acceptable, I personally like the LRBHO, so I went with shaving the mag spine.
