"Weapons of the Plains" exhibit at the RCMP Heritage Center has no guns. "Removed for conservation", right! 😜

Yeah, it was pretty jarring. There's historical examples of everything from saddles to tunic buttons to handcuffs. But firearms have been, literally, removed from their heritage.

It’s just really surprising how anti gun the Canadian government is, your forefathers would have survived those lands with the aid of firearms, in hunting and protection you are literally surrounded by potentially dangerous animals. To then go to the extreme of removing what are probably deactivated firearms from museum displays is just absurd

It's kinda sad because one of the first things traded between natives and settlers was firearms.
