Which website should I trust for checking my PAL application status?
I'm confused because I found two places where I can check and they show inconsistent status info:
- One is the individual web services here: https://rcmp.ca/en/firearms/individual-web-services
- The other is the myCFP: https://firearms.rcmp.ca/en-US/mycfp/
Individual web services shows the status is Processed and Issued, while myCFP shows Submitted(it was processed last week), and the application numbers (although the personal information are the same) they show are different too. Very confusing!
Has anyone else been in a similar situation before? Which one did you trust?

I didn't even know about that second link! My application has been received and initial review complete on the first link, but not even showing up on the second link...

My application was submitted through the second link about 30 days ago, so I assumed that I should check my status through it and it did show different status on the way, initially 'submitted' then 'processed' and then back to 'submitted' yesterday, weird!
I was trying to figure out what happened through Google and found the first link, it shows 'processed and issued'. I wasn't aware of the first link until today!Just checking the other posts right now, it seems people mostly used the first link for status check, that's really good news to me, hoping Canada Post won't delay the mail too much though :)

Fingers crossed! Glad I got my application in before Canada Post strike, hoping to beat out any other mail in (I previously held an FAC so had to go paper based)

wait for another 2 weeks or when the 45 days mark hitted, give the CFP line a call, ask for your local CFO office phone extension and talk to the local CFO. Normally your paper will sitting on the CFO desk for infinity if they need any additional doc from you, they never reach out unless you call.

I used the individual web services when I applied originally. Used the same for renewal.

TLDR - don't hold your breath.
I applied in July 2024.
I checked both sites quite frequently. The individual web services site was the more accurate site. I have called about 5 times since September 2024, and consistently this site echoed what I heard from the RCMP office over the phone - I still have not got mine in the mail though.
Apparently they stopped mailing anything from New Brunswick the day before the strike started; said I should expect it 3-4 weeks after the postal strike ends. Countdown is on I suppose.
Silver lining is I would have purchased a Ruger PC had I got my card any sooner, so I saved a bit of cash ig...

The first link says it has been approved and issued and the second link says submitted.

Individual web service was more accurate for my application.
