22 Raven is almost ready for a range day.

It’s still a bit of a work in progress, but sweet Jesus it’s coming along rather nicely. Also had some help from two others in the Raven community along the way and would easily still be stumped if it wasn’t for them.

Is the BCG designed by yourself or is it the one from Lockhart ?

It’s a bit of a mix between myself and two others designs. We’ve taken a CMMG kit, stretched the rails the required amount and then 3D printed the parts in red.

The rear end cap helps keep the needed spring tension for the bolt to operate. The red bit closer to the front is for the firing pin and acts as a space since the Ravens trigger assembly is further to the rear than an AR. Right now the firing pin is an AR-15 one thats been cut down and then filed to a rectangular shape like the OEM firing pin. I might actually make it circular later down the road though.

The rest of the kit is all factory parts that can be bought.

Nice! Are they still in the works of releasing a belt fed 22?

I’m not really sure where LH is with that project…really wish they’d stop coming out with new things and just get their current list of options to a sustainable level first.

Thanks dude. So far the only thing I wish is that I went with a 15” handgaurd. That way it covered that extra 2” of the barrel.

I’ve just always loved the look of damn near just the flash hider/comp sticking out the end of the handgaurd. Outside of that though, this thing is such a blast to mess around with. I fully understand why the Americans love their SBRs so much now. Lol

I feel like I’ve shot your raven at the range on New Year’s Day….

….interesting. What’s the odds you’re a member of the Selkirk range? 🤔

Yes indeed

It took me a minute, but yes. Yes I do. Hopefully that stock is still holding up for you.

I fitted the replacement on prematurely just in case. Only thing left to do to it is to get a cheek rest for it. I quite enjoy it, thanks again

Good to hear you’re enjoying the rifle. I’m just happy someone is taking it out and using it since it was slowly turning into a dust collector in my safe.

If we happen to bump into each other at the range, feel free to strike up a conversation. Same with you u/front_ad_3400 might even catch me testing this thing again. lol

I have to admit, I’m blown away by the amount of people who actually want one of these in 22LR.

I honestly thought there’d be maybe 2-3 other people interested in this build. Really makes me wish I pushed a little harder to get it done sooner.
