I know there's other provinces but can't remember them.

That's because they're irrelevant. Ontario contains the vast majority of anti-gun politicking outside of Quebec, and angry Karens from Toronto/Ottawa being told "we don't care about your victories in the Federal space; the rest of the province [that your faction mismanaged into the ground] will not tolerate your bullshit".

It's an even bigger deal because taking the OPP off the table is a massive blow to the Federal government's ability to project power in this fashion- in a way that isn't true for provinces that don't have provincial police (which you'll recall is why AB and SK were flirting with reviving what would be, functionally, the NWMP).
