Hi everyone, after many years if delaying getting my PAL I went and did the course. Submitted online on April 17th. I understand there is a wait of 28 days. someone i know in the same area got it back in 5 weeks. I still have no update on the webpage it just said "Application successfully summited." Called CFO office 2-3 weeks ago and it says its in the final stages they'll call me if they need anything. I want to hunt Grouse in the fall and need to take a hunters course but dont want to spend money if i haven't been approved. My record is squeaky clean and I was never sad when my goldfish died so I should be good there. I haven't gotten a phone call and niether have my references.

Anything I can do or just hurry and wait? What are others seeing for wait time?

Just gotta wait. The old benchmark was 28 days but for the last year or so its completely RNG for new applicants. Some are 5 weeks like you saw others are well into a year.

You don't need your PAL to do the hunting course, you can do the hunting course online. I did it over a few days. Also if you don't have your PAL by the fall, pick up a crossbow, don't need a PAL to have one of those. It'll be tougher, but at least you'll be hunting.
