This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.
In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

To expand on The_Crover's comment, some american distributors/retailers can export stuff to Canada besides the major importer businesses.
It just depends on if they have the permits, and are willing to do the paperwork etc. to legally ship it. But typically yes they would charge a little extra if they can export it directly to you, an example would be Opticscamp based in the US, they can export techsights to Canada but charge an international shipping fee on top of their normal shipping cost.
I would suggest contacting/emailing the distributor/retailer directly to ask if they can ship to Canada, and then it's on them to legally do it if they can.
