Some bad news. Peter Julian has taken the NDP role of public safety critic and MacGregor has stepped down.

I'm not going to throw Julian under the bus immediately, he was the first person to ask the speaker to rule the amendment out of order.

However, I am very worried about what this will do to MacGregors amendments. I hope MacGregor keeps his seat in SECU to finish his work on C-21.

Was MP MacGregor the previous NDP public safety critic? I can’t find anything on google that he’s stepping down.

According to Marco, yes he is stepping down. I haven't seen it anywhere else either, I guess we'll have to wait and see tomorrow. Even if he did, I just really hope he stays on the committee.

I wouldn’t be so sure.

Cabinet shuffle all you want. It doesn’t change the fact that half of their seats are in rural ridings and the same people are going to be pissed off.

All that would do is give the cons more seats next election, and potentially see an NDP wipeout.

Fuck it. Let them. Conservative majority government lets goooo

Don't be so sure. Singh is facing a lot of heat from within the party, and this bill is a big deal to his rural constituents.
