Weekly Newbies & FAQ Thread - Post your questions here for PAL/RPAL application, timelines, CFSC/CFSRC, references & requirements, or general new to firearms ownership -type questions

This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

This question is asked all the time. Short answer is yes get it. Short barreled rifles and things like the skorpion still require it. Also the feds are bothered by people having one so thats another valid reason to have it. The handgun ban is an OIC, not a law, which means it survives only as long as the govt does.

I especially like the premise that it bothers the feds, so now I have to get it.
