Final follow-up, legal sawed-off spewing buckshot fire
Legal length reminders:
- barrel can’t be cut below 18” (18.5” semi auto)
- overall length can’t be cut below 26”
It wouldn’t be a wrap to my latest cut down build I’ve been chronicling on reddit without a proof of action video. Could’ve been the evening sky but this one just rockets fireballs no matter what I load.

Haha that’s amazing. I had the opposite. Fired my shockwave one handed in the snow a bunch of times (it was cold so it didn’t feel like anything was wrong) and ended up with a wrist splint for 10 months

As a gun owner from the states, a blue state at that what kida paperwork do you have to go thru for that sawed off, just curious

Outside of your basic shotgun and rifle license nothing (they don’t even have to be registered except in Québec).
There is a really jank measurement though where if you cut the barrel to 18.5” on a semi auto, it’s still classified as a shotgun or rifle, if you cut the barrel between 18”-18.4” you have to register it as a handgun (and therefore it can now legally only be shot at a range, not in the bush, not hunting etc), and if you cut the barrel at 17.99” and below, it’s 5-20 years in prison and tens of thousands in fines.
On manual actions too, a manufacturer can basically make the barrel whatever they want. So it’s not uncommon to have 8” barrel snub nose Remington shotguns without any extra paperwork. Saw it off to that size and it’s a crime, you can only saw it off to the measurements slated in the post above

Got my 12 inch barrel with a pistol grip on a Churchill 612, its like 18 inches and legal according to rcmp.
And more like probation if you truly have a license and cut it too short. There’s no way they’re putting a law abiding Citizen away for cutting it half and inch too short.

available with basic PAL license; no SBR forms or taxes to pay. with factory made barrels, you can go even shorter, like here. available to any shmuck that has passed the PAL course and received their license

The only difference you can’t cut it that short yourself, the factory has to make it

The range caretaker had a legal sawed off before he died. Said mini shells were a dream to run in the thing
