Shooting North bay target shooting

Going up to north bay for a week soon, and wanted to bring my guns, but cant seem to find any ranges that allow non-members. would looking on the CLUPA for some land be my best bet? and after I find what seems like a good area, should I email the MNR and township to be sure? Never shot on crown before so not sure the whole process. Thanks!

They gate private property, not crown land

So that gravel pit is no go then. Where else on that road we can shoot ?

Anywhere that’s crown land, I mean that pit is also crown land but is leased. Along that road almost everything is crown land.

That’s good to know thank you but is there any good clearing? We can set up the targets and shoot something with some kind of back or a buff or anything

I haven’t been up there but I’ve looked around there a few times on iHunter thinking I might do some grouse hunting in the area.

I have gone target shooting a couple times on crown land south of North Bay between Hwy 11 and Algonquin park. I just spent some time looking at satellite views and identifying potential spots. I found plenty of little cleared spots where I could safely shoot at 25-50m just off the road.
