An absolute victory would be the supreme court declaring that its illegal to reclassify firearms via OIC and firearms need to be classified based on definitions in the criminal code. That would immediately make all semi auto long guns legal again.

Yeah, they would revert to non restricted or restricted based on barrel length with a ruling like that. That would be an absolute dream scenario.

You'd likely have to wait for the RCMP to reinstate the registration certificate before the Rs are let out of jail again.

If they ruled that it is illegal to reclassify all firearms by OIC, it would repeal the bans of 1992 and 1994 as well, guns like FAL and AK would become legal again. That likely won't happen, but an absolute victory would be completely stripping the government of OIC authority and having guns classified according to their definition in the criminal code. A more likely scenario would partially or fully undo the recent OICs.

They are great guns to shoot. Very smooth, accurate and reliable. I would likely get one as well if they ever become legal again. I know multiple people with grandfathered Chinese type 56s AKs, there are still lots of them floating around in Canada.

AKs have been long banned before the 2000s I believe if I’m not mistaken so no
