Liberals were here

Post image

"Weapons of the Plains" exhibit at the RCMP Heritage Center has no guns. "Removed for conservation", right! 😜

They got removed to maintain them. Not everything is a liberal plot. Believe it or not, unless you wanna display guns swabbed up with 6mm of cosmoline you’re gonna have to take them down every now and then to clean off the dust and give it a new coat of oil or light wax.

I'm a bit skeptical of this. I know conservation needs to happen, but every firearm from every room taken down at once, and not much else?

"bit skeptical"of thing that is completely just comnon sense

thinks some weird "liberal" conspiracy somehow makes more sense.

Yeah man, everything you don't like or understand is the liberals fault. Why ever think too hard about something when you can just blame "woke" instead?

I hope you realize that you're just as guilty of over-generalization as you're making me to be. My first post was meant as a joke, and I'm very far from being a "single issue fuck Trudeau stop wokeness because freeedoooooom!" conservative. But yeah, I get it, it's easier to ridicule people than to try and understand where they're coming from.

It still is weird that it was only the guns that were missing and that they were all missing - yeah, there were a couple textiles removed here and there, but the whole "firearm" category was not on display, and no other category was completely absent. For example, the display with the red serge has four different tunics, only one of which was removed for conservation. That's much more in line with what I've seen before, in a lifetime of attending museums - there's always some pieces here and there that go "backstage" for work, or that get loaned out or temporarily moved. This is the first time I've noticed a whole category missing.

I wish I'd asked while I was there, but I'll be getting in touch with the centre to ask.

It's still weird thay it was only gins that were missing.

No it isn't. It's not weird, you're just dense and uncurious. Do you think that maybe the persom who restores antique firearms perhaps doesn't do restoration work on other objects? This may be hard to believe for someone of your low understanding of the world and things around you, but sometimes people have a thing called "expertise" where they spend many years learning how to do something very difficult and conplicated, but small in scope. Does your laundry machine also wash dishes? No. Just like the person who restores antique firearms, also doesn't clean and restore other objects.

I don't think you're a single issue anti-woke comservative. I think you are fucking stupid and incurious, and participate in thought terminating behaviour to not have to examine your own shortcomings. And that's just happens to make you drawn to conservatism.
